Denise Marshall

Denise Marshall is also known as Blue Skies Above Photography. Denise is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology for Narrative Documentary Photography with a minor in Biomedical Photography. Denise was a biomedical photographer at Massachusettes General Hospital, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University Hospital. After leaving medical photography she continued her passion of landscape photography and capturing natural light in beautiful settings. 

Her journey into photographic weavings began in November 2020 while she was taking an abstract photography class. A common theme that kept coming up was how her work was very linear. Studying her printed images, she saw them from different perspectives and ended up cutting one of her images into vertical strips. As she looked at her “deconstructed” photograph she took another image and cut it into horizontal strips. She then proceeded to weave the images together. denisejillmarshall.com
