About Us

The Bucks County Chapter (BCC) of the Board of Associates of Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia was formed in 1983 when we made our first donation of $500 to support cancer research.  From those humble beginnings, and with 40 years of varied fundraising events, to date we have raised over $5.9 million dollars for various research projects at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

The Bucks County Chapter has always attracted hardworking and dedicated individuals and has relied on the support of chapter members and the community at large for success in its fundraising efforts.  Our past events include art shows, BINGO, garden parties, golf and tennis outings, a beer fest and galas.  In more recent years our main fundraiser has been an online special pledge research project at Fox Chase that our group personally vets.  Previous research projects that we have supported are:  Bladder Cancer, Breast Cancer, Immunology, Lung Cancer, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Medulloblastoma, Ovarian Cancer , Pancreatic Cancer and Precision Medicine.

Fox Chase Cancer Center, part of the Temple University Health System, is one of the leading cancer research and treatment centers in the United States.  Founded in 1904 in Philadelphia as one of the nation’s first cancer hospitals, Fox Chase was also among the first institutions to be designated a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1974.  Fox Chase researchers have won the highest awards in their fields, including two Nobel Prizes.  Fox Chase physicians are also routinely recognized in national rankings, and the Center’s nursing program has received the Magnet status for excellence five consecutive times.  Today, Fox Chase conducts a broad array of nationally competitive basic, translational, and clinical research, with special programs in cancer prevention, detection, survivorship, and community outreach.  For more information, visit Fox Chase’s Web site at www.foxchase.org or call 1-888-FOX CHASE or (1-888-369-2427).
